If you are looking for something to do in Miami and/or Fort Lauderdale either before or after the cruise, I found an interesting website called www.freemiamievents.com. It lists free events by week for both Miami Metro and Broward County (Fort Lauderdale). I will be arriving in Miami on Thursday February 11 and hope to attend some of the events listed on the website either Friday or Saturday.

UPDATE: All the spaces on the original helicopter flight have been filled. However, we can get a second helicopter flight - same trip, same island - to bring more people to the private island. It is $156/person for six people. If you want to do this, please contact Lorilee IMMEDIATELY! (But please ask any other questions on this board instead of contacting her at this time, as she is super busy getting ready for our cruise.) Thank you!

I hope you enjoy Miami. I won't be arriving 'til the day before the cruise, but I'm looking forward to meeting you then. I hope you find somebody/some people to join you early 'cause I went an extra day early in '08 as did two others and we had a blast rooming together at the hotel (different city than this year's). |

Greetings, everyone ! I hope everyone is looking forward to being in the Caribbean in February - the weather will be much warmer than home, that's for sure.
I wanted to mention that I will be flying to Miami on the Thursday before the cruise, and have booked a hotel room for the three nights (Thursday, Friday and Saturday) at the Ramada Hotel. If any ladies are planning on being in Miami for those three nights and would like to share a room with me, please let me know. I will also be making arrangements to have a rental car while in Miami. This is the island that the St. Thomas helicopter tour goes to, leaving you to enjoy it in peaceful bliss for a few hours:
[img] [img] [img] [img] [img] [img] Experience a fun ride (about ten minutes each way) to a real piece of paradise!!! Only a few members of our group will be on the island, nobody else. You can finally answer the question to, "Who would you want to be on a deserted island with?" Sign up NOW or it'll be too late! This excursion will be worth the money and you can save by doing a free/cheap excursion in Grand Turk (where the beach is free) and/or another port. Contact Lorilee ASAP to be one of the lucky ones to do the helicopter/secluded beach St. Thomas excursion. Only two spaces remain, but they must be filled for the excursion to take place! |
